Do WhatsApp calls really not work in Dubai, even on an eSIM?
Correct, the UAE blocks VoIP calling at network level on every SIM type. WhatsApp messages, photos and voice notes work normally; live calls don't connect. Botim is the licensed workaround, or use your hotel Wi-Fi with a VPN (a legal gray zone many travelers use quietly).
